Rural Business Development
Rural Economic Development:
The BCT Team has been involved in the conversion of buildings in both Colville and Ritzville in
Washington State to turn existing buildings into turn-key customer service centers. The centers are
equipped with workstations, broadband communications capability and security. These facilities were
created through partnerships generated between community organizations and companies needing
customer service sites.
To develop these sites, our consultants has worked with community-based organizations and the
telecommunications companies to increase broadband communications and reliability through redundant
and circular pathways to and within communities.
We have assisted several communities to obtain funding and to plan the deployment of fiber optic cable
to increase capacity, redundancy, and service to communities that have undertaken initiatives to create
turn-key sites for expanding customer service operations.
Our group has conducted labor force studies and surveys to determine availability and the level of
compatibility to meet the requirements of the customer service industry in rural markets. We have also
worked with local community colleges to develop curriculum for training the local labor force.
BCT has developed relationships with communities and state/federal agencies to be able to create
alliances that will be compliment and best assist new area ventures.
We work with both communities and state employment agencies to obtain funding to train your desired
work force. There are a number of programs to assist firms interested in creating new employment
opportunities in rural areas.
The BCT Group has the needed experience to evaluate communities as potential sites, work with the
community to develop a proposal that will be cost effective for your business/city and to help obtain the
necessary funding for the development of the site and asset management.
The consulting team has extensive experience working with the telco's to develop the needed
infrastructure to service any size operation. We have and can also assisted in obtaining grants for the
addition of new infrastructure for the benefit of the customer service industry.
The BCT Group is currently working on the ability to provide a multi-site network that will be able to
absorb varying levels of customer service during an event such as a natural disaster emergency by
providing:
- Immediate customer service notifications and rapid response information both inbound and
outbound.
- A network of rural community centers linked together that can grow and contract as demand
requires in our rapidly changing society.
We have found that the biggest factor in a city not getting noticed by companies looking for remote
operations locations is the cities ability to market what they have to offer. This includes building space,
tax incentives, talent pool, proximity to transportation, and local attractions and other assets.
